Guest Players

A guest player is someone who plays with your group occasionally but isn't a full member. They can book, play, and see their own stats — they just don't appear in the club leaderboard.

What's different about a guest?

Guests play the same football as everyone else. The only real difference is that they're kept out of the competitive side of things:

  • No leaderboard appearance — guests don't show in season tables, all-time leaderboards or club records.
  • Self-booking works the same — they use the RSVP link like everyone else.
  • They have a personal profile — match history, recent form, and personal stats are all tracked.
  • Personal achievements still count — hat-tricks, attendance milestones and other personal badges are awarded.
  • Same notifications as a regular — but with quieter defaults so they aren't spammed every week (more on that below).
  • Booking priority — guests default to Tier C, so regulars get first dibs on a spot.

How to add a guest player

1

Open the Players section

Go to Admin → Players.
2

Tap Add Player

Enter their name and (optionally) phone number.
3

Toggle Guest player ON

This is the only thing that distinguishes a guest from a regular member.
4

Save

They'll appear in your player list with a small G flag and can be added to matches immediately.

Tip

Guests default to Tier C booking priority, so regulars always fill spots first. If a guest becomes a regular fixture, you can promote them later (see below).

Making an existing player a guest

If someone who used to be a regular has stopped showing up consistently, you can demote them to a guest:

1

Open their profile

Go to Admin → Players and tap the player to edit them.
2

Toggle Guest player ON

You'll be asked to confirm the change.

Good to know

This removes them from the leaderboard on the next stats refresh. Their match history is preserved, their personal achievements stay, and their profile keeps working — they just stop counting toward club competitions and records.

Promoting a guest to a full member

When a guest has become a regular fixture and you want them counted properly, promoting them is one toggle. They'll unlock the leaderboard, competitive achievements (Season Champion, Golden Boot, etc.) and the standard notification defaults.

1

Edit the player and toggle Guest off

Then check their tier is right — most regulars sit in Tier A or B.

Tip

When you promote someone, all their past match history counts immediately — they'll appear in the leaderboard with their full stats from day one, not just from the date you promoted them.

Common questions

  • Can guests self-book? Yes — they use the RSVP link the same as everyone else.
  • Do guests see their own stats? Yes — they have a profile page with their personal match history, recent form and personal records.
  • Do guests get notifications? By default, no broadcast notifications (booking open, last call). They always get match-specific ones when they're in a pool (teams announced, match cancelled, match report). They can turn on the rest in their notification settings.
  • Can guests vote for Man of the Match? Yes — if they played in that match.
  • Do guests appear in the match report? Yes — as scorers and in the team line-ups. Their personal milestones (50th game, 25th goal) are also called out.
  • Do guests appear in On Fire / Grim Reaper? No — these are club-level honours reserved for members.
  • Do guests appear in win streak / loss streak announcements? No — public streak callouts in the match report are member moments. Guests can still see their own streaks on their personal profile.
  • Can guests break all-time club records? No — all-time records (biggest victory, longest win streak, most goals in a game, etc.) are tracked for members only. A guest's contribution doesn't count toward or against those records.
