Voting & Awards

Capo has two types of awards: ones you vote for after each match, and automatic ones based on streaks. They add a bit of banter and bragging rights to your kickabout.

Voted awards

After a match is completed, players who participated can vote for three awards:

  • Man of the Match (MoM) — Best player. The one who ran the show.
  • Donkey of the Day (DoD) — Worst performance. We've all had those days.
  • Missing in Action (MiA) — The invisible player. Were they even there?

MiA is off by default (it's the most banter-y one) — you can enable it in Settings if your group can handle it.

Tip

Voting is anonymous. Players see the results but not who voted for what.

How voting works

1

Match completes

Once you enter the result and save, voting opens automatically.
2

Players vote

Anyone who played can vote. They pick one player for each enabled category (MoM, DoD, MiA).
3

Voting window closes

After 12 hours (configurable), voting closes and winners are announced.
4

Results appear

Winners show in the Match Report and on leaderboards with their award icons.

Self-voting is allowed

Yes, you can vote for yourself. If someone wants to give themselves MoM, that's between them and their conscience.

What happens with ties?

If two players tie for an award, they both win. Co-MoMs happen sometimes — both players get the icon and the glory.

Automatic form awards

These aren't voted — Capo calculates them automatically after every match based on recent fantasy points:

  • On Fire 🔥 — Whoever has the highest average fantasy points per game over the last 45 days. The player in the best current form.
  • Grim Reaper 💀 — Whoever has the lowest average fantasy points per game over the last 45 days. The player on the worst run.

There's only one holder of each at a time. A player needs to have played at least 4 games in the window to qualify — so someone who's only played once can't sneak in.

Tip

These are based on average fantasy points per game over a rolling window, not just win/loss streaks. A player who shows up every week and loses narrowly might still hold Grim Reaper over someone with fewer games but a single bad thrashing — because it's the per-game average that counts.

Both the rolling window length (default: 45 days) and the minimum games to qualify (default: 4) are configurable in Settings.

Where awards appear

Award icons show up throughout the app:

  • Match Report — Next to player names and in the awards section
  • Leaderboards — Season and half-season tables show current holders
  • Team lists — When you share teams, streak icons are included
  • Player profiles — Career award counts

Configuring awards

In Settings, you can toggle each award on or off:

  • Voting enabled — Master toggle for all voting
  • MoM/DoD/MiA — Enable each category individually
  • Voting duration — How long voting stays open (default 12 hours)
  • Show On Fire/Grim Reaper — Toggle streak icons
  • Form window & minimum games — Rolling window length and games required to qualify

Every group is different — configure what fits your vibe.
